The Southern Region - Melbourne office began operations in May 1999. This office enables QBE Re to offer a localised service for its Melbourne clients. The office also provides service for our Perth, Darwin, Adelaide and Tasmanian clients.

Norm Ray is the manager of the Melbourne office. He has been involved in the Melbourne Reinsurance market in excess of 20 years and his experience and local industry knowledge has assisted in the rapid establishment of this branch office.

Background

Started in 1994 with Mercantile Mutual Insurance progressing into the General Insurance underwriting area. Joined QBE Re in 1997 initially in the reinsurance claims area. Switched to Facultative Casualty underwriting area in 2000. Currently working as property assistant underwriter.

Experience

Primarily casualty experience in Fidelity Guarantee, Personal Accident and General Liability. Exposure also to Financial lines business such as Professional Indemnity, Directors and Officers Liability and Bankers Bond.
