Taronga and QBE call for support to double down on wildlife conservation

Taronga Conservation Society Australia (Taronga) and QBE Insurance Australia (QBE) are urging wildlife lovers to visit Taronga Zoo Sydney and support its QBE Free-flight Bird Show this month to help amplify their wildlife conservation efforts.

QBE’s ‘Birds for Good’ initiative will see the insurer, a long-time supporter of Taronga, matching public donations made to the legendary free-entry bird show in October with proceeds going directly towards the Taronga Foundation.

QBE’s Chief Customer Officer Bettina Pidcock, said the campaign would see QBE match funds raised at the show which regularly inspires gold coin donations from attendees.

"We're proud supporters of the Taronga Conservation Society and its legendary bird show which raises much needed funds to support wildlife conservation.

“This month we’re calling for visitors to help us amplify our efforts with our pledge to match every dollar raised at the show in October.”

The educational and entertaining show, run daily, showcases an array of fantastic birds and their abilities with help from specialist trainers and audience volunteers.

The ‘Birds for Good’ campaign runs until 31 October and entry to the daily show is complimentary with any Taronga Zoo Sydney ticket purchase.

Where: Taronga Zoo Sydney, Bradleys Head Rd, Mosman NSW

When: 12:00pm and 3:00pm daily (No booking required however, shows fill up fast so arrive early to save your seat) *

Cost: Free with Zoo entry – purchase tickets to the zoo online or at the gate.

*The QBE Free-flight Bird Show may be cancelled in instances of extremely hot weather.
