Carbon Disclosure Project
QBE is a signatory to CDP, formerly the Carbon Disclosure Project, a not-for-profit organisation working with thousands of companies and institutional investors globally. CDP runs the global disclosure system that enables companies, cities, states and regions to measure and manage their environmental impacts.
Each year the CDP Secretariat issues a questionnaire to the world's largest companies by market capitalisation, to identify the views of company management on climate-related risks and opportunities, governance, strategy and metrics.
In 2020, we achieved an A- score, above the global average of C which places us in the leadership band. We are proud to be recognised as leaders in implementing current best practices on climate issues.
CDP’s global disclosure system is accessed by 515 investors with US$106 trillion in assets under management, and it assesses our awareness of climate change issues, management methods and progress towards action taken on climate change. Each year we participate in the CDP survey, which benchmarks our management of climate impacts against 8400+ companies from around the world. The CDP then breaks down the score into categories that indicate where further attention is needed, so we can be accountable.
QBE Group has been voluntarily reporting as part of CDP since 2010. Our most recent submission is available for download below.
