As part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing our product offerings, we are pleased to announce that the current Annual Travel Insurance will be renamed and upgraded to GoFlex Travel Insurance, effective 16 November 2025. This update reflects our commitment to offer greater flexibility and more comprehensive coverage for diverse travel needs.
Key Updates in GoFlex Travel Insurance:
1. Product Renaming
- The Annual Travel Policy has renamed to GoFlex Travel Insurance Policy.
2. New Benefits Introduced
- Flexible Policy Durations: Customers can now choose from 90-day, 180-day, or 1-year coverage options.
- Abduction Incident Support: Provide the support: services and reimburse the associated costs when the insured person is abducted during the journey.
- Food Poisoning Allowance: Cash allowance in case of food poisoning.
- Severe Turbulence Trauma Support: Provide the support: services and reimburse the associated costs when the insured person is injured due to severe turbulence.
3. Benefit Update
- Medical Expenses Limit: Reimbursement for follow-up treatment of injuries is now capped at 10%.
Impact to Your Clients
- Customer who wishes to renew their existing policy, can do so under the GoFlex Travel (1-year Plan). The No Claim Discount will remain unchanged.
- Customer who prefers a shorter policy duration (i.e. 90-day or 180-day) can purchase a new policy. This will not be considered a renewal, and the No Claim Discount will not apply.

Starting 1 October, 2025, QBE Hong Kong will transition its insurance partner for newly issued “Cross Border” motor insurance policies from China Pacific Insurance to Ping An Insurance.
This change brings enhanced protection, more personalized services, and more affordable premiums, offering customers greater peace of mind when driving in the Greater Bay Area. (Existing customers will not be affected by this change.)
New Coverage & Services from Ping An Insurance:
1. Two new optional add-on coverages:
- Medical Expenses Liability Insurance (Third Party)*
- Medical Expenses Liability Insurance (Passengers)*
2. No administrative fee for policy cancellation – offering greater flexibility for travel planning.
3. Cantonese-language support for Hong Kong customers in case of accidents in the Greater Bay Area.
*These supplementary coverages extend beyond the scope of National Basic Medical Insurance.
Coverage Update
The maximum coverage limit for third-party liability insurance will be adjusted from RMB 10 million to RMB 5 million.

In addition to “Cross Border” coverage, QBE Motor Insurance provides full local vehicle protection, including Vehicle Damage, Theft, Third-party Liability and additional coverage options. This ensures peace of mind whether driving in Hong Kong or the Greater Bay Area.
