QBE Travel Prestige – Advisory on escalating security situation in the Middle East
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Singapore has issued travel advisories for 15 countries in the Middle East, effective 28 February 2026, due to escalating security concerns.
The 15 countries to which travellers are advised to defer travel include: Iran, Iraq, Egypt, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Palestinian Territories, Syria, Yemen, Lebanon, Jordan, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Kuwait, and Qatar.
The current situation in the Middle East is considered a known event. As such, this will affect single and annual travel policies incepted on or after 28 February 2026, 3.00pm, including annual travel policies with trips booked on or after 28 February 2026, 3.00pm.
The QBE Travel Prestige policy contains the following general exclusions that are applicable to all sections:
- 4.15 War, invasion, acts of foreign enemies, hostilities or war-like operations (whether war be declared or not), civil war, mutiny, civil commotion assuming the proportions or amounting to a popular rising, military rising, insurrection, rebellion, revolution or usurped power.
- 4.23 Known event or circumstances which were made known to You and could lead to a claim on the Policy.
- 4.24 If You travel to a destination for which the Singapore Government has issued an advisory against non-essential or all travel (regardless of Your nationality), this Policy will not provide cover under any section for any known circumstances, facts or risks associated with that destination.

In light of the ongoing situation, customers may opt to cancel their QBE Travel Prestige Single Trip policies with a full premium refund.
This applies to all policies issued before 9 March 2026, for both Asia and Worldwide coverage, provided the policy has not commenced and no claims have been reported or paid.
For customers who have already departed to any countries and require a policy extension, they may contact their QBE intermediary to arrange for a policy endorsement.
