Administrative Service

On the eve of the Lunar New Year, a family of three traveled to Thailand and purchased QBE's Travel Insurance (Silver Plan). During their journey, they encountered an accident while riding a Thai tuk-tuk taxi, resulting in the father being thrown out of the vehicle and suffering a severe fracture in his left hand.

The customer was immediately admitted to the hospital, and after a medical examination, the doctor recommended prompt surgery. Upon confirmation of the diagnosis, the customer called the IPA hotline to inquire about the necessary documentation. The IPA hotline colleague promptly assisted the customer in handling the required paperwork.

Finally, after three days of hospitalization, the customer decided to cut short their trip and return to Hong Kong for the surgery.

The entire claims process was swift and efficient. Starting from the initial contact with IPA and QBE Relationship Manager Ken Wong and their Claims dept colleague Tracy Yeung on February 9, 2024, the customer returned to Hong Kong for surgery on February 12 and underwent three months of postoperative treatment. The entire case concluded on May 11.

In accordance with the requirements of the Insurance Authority, starting from June 5, 2024, QBE will be mailing renewal reminder letters to customers who have not renewed their "Employers' Compensation Insurance" (including SME Business Insurance Package) policies. These letters will be mailed out every week, 30 days prior to the policy expiration date.

For example:
On June 5, 2024, QBE will mail renewal reminder letters for policies expiring between July 1-10, 2024.
On June 12, 2024, QBE will mail renewal reminder letters for policies expiring between July 11-17, 2024, and so on.

In response to network security requirements, starting from May 19, 2024, QBE Hong Kong requires all Qnect users to update their passwords. Once the Qnect password is updated, agents can log in as usual through Manutouch again. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.

Starting from September 1, 2024, there will be the following change to Travel insurance:

Additional fees, known as premium loading, will be introduced for seniors. The specific changes are as follows:
a. Seniors aged between 70 and 79 will have a 12.5% increase in their insurance premiums.
b. Seniors aged 80 and above will face a 25% increase in their insurance premiums.

These adjustments aim to bring the insurance premiums for seniors in line with market prices and reflect the potential risks they might encounter during their travels.

Updated arrangement for cancellation of In Force Motor Insurance policies

According to industry guidelines, effective immediately, if you wish to apply for the cancellation of an In Force motor insurance policy, you must submit a written consent form to QBE as an application for policy cancellation.
