Important Notice - Annual Travel Product Update
Last month, QBE Hong Kong officially announced that the current “Annual Travel Insurance” will be renamed and upgraded to “GoFlex Travel Insurance” starting from November 16, 2025.
This upgrade offers your clients more flexible and comprehensive protection to suit different travel needs—so they can travel freely and explore the world with peace of mind!
Key Updates in GoFlex Travel Insurance:
- Product Renaming
- The Annual Travel Policy has renamed to GoFlex Travel Insurance Policy.
- New Benefits Introduced
- Flexible Policy Durations
Customers can now choose from 90-day, 180-day, or 1-year coverage options. - Abduction Incident Support
Provide the support: services and reimburse the associated costs when the insured person is abducted during the journey. - Food Poisoning Allowance
Cash allowance in case of food poisoning. - Severe Turbulence Trauma Support
Provide the support: services and reimburse the associated costs when the insured person is injured due to severe turbulence.

Reimbursement for follow-up treatment of injuries is now capped at 10%.

Renewal Arrangements:
Starting now, for policies expiring on or after November 16, renewal notices will reflect the new product name and upgraded features. Here's how this affects your clients:
- Clients who have opted into auto-renewal will have their policy automatically updated to GoFlex Travel (1-year Plan). No action is required on your part, as we will notify your client about the product update via email. The No Claim Discount will remain unchanged.
- If your client wishes to renew their existing policy, you may assist them in doing so under the GoFlex Travel (1-year Plan). The No Claim Discount will remain unchanged.
- If your client prefers a shorter policy duration (i.e. 90-day or 180-day), you may assist them in purchasing a new policy. Please note this will not be considered a renewal, and the No Claim Discount will not apply.

Travel with Peace of Mind, Health without Limits!
QBE Hong Kong has been launched an exclusive, limited-time extended coverage for Manulife agents. From now until April 17, 2026, when purchasing a single trip travel insurance (Gold Plan) (new business) via Qnect, clients will receive the “Extended Coverage for Pre-existing Conditions” endorsement! This protects clients from unexpected health issues during their trip, especially those with existing medical conditions.
Key Coverage Highlights:
If, during a Journey outside Hong Kong, the Insured Person suffers an acute onset of a Pre-existing Medical Condition, the Company will extend the following benefits:
- Section 3.2 Benefit 1 – Medical Expenses
- Section 3.2 Benefit 3 – 24-Hours Worldwide Emergency Assistance Service
To reimburse the necessary and reasonable expenses incurred by the Insured Person, up to a maximum of 30 days from the date of the acute onset.
This extension shall apply only if all of the following conditions are met:
(a) The Insured Person is compliant with all medical advice provided by their treating Registered Medical Practitioner in respect of their Pre-existing Medical Condition(s), including but not limited to attending scheduled appointments, undergoing recommended tests, taking prescribed medication, and not deferring or refusing any treatment or surgery.
(b) The Insured Person does not have any undiagnosed symptoms or conditions for which medical consultation, investigation, diagnosis, treatment or surgery is pending.
(c) In the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the commencement of the Journey, the Insured Person has not:
i. attended an accident and emergency department more than once;
ii. been hospitalised for more than three (3) consecutive days; or
iii. been hospitalised on more than one (1) occasion.
Note: This extension does not cover trip cancellation, curtailment, hospital or quarantine cash allowance.

Product Update
QBE Hong Kong “Cross Border” Insurance – Partner Update
Starting October 1, 2025, QBE Hong Kong will transition its insurance partner for newly issued “Cross Border” motor insurance policies from China Pacific Insurance to Ping An Insurance.
This change brings enhanced protection, more personalized services, and more affordable premiums, offering customers greater peace of mind when driving in the Greater Bay Area. (Existing customers will not be affected by this change.)
New Coverage & Services from Ping An Insurance:
- Two new optional add-on coverages:
- Medical Expenses Liability Insurance (Third Party)
- Medical Expenses Liability Insurance (Passengers)
- These supplementary coverages extend beyond the scope of National Basic Medical Insurance.
- No administrative fee for policy cancellation – offering greater flexibility for travel planning.
- Cantonese-language support for Hong Kong customers in case of accidents in the Greater Bay Area.
Coverage Update
The maximum coverage limit for third-party liability insurance will be adjusted from RMB 10 million to RMB 5 million.Comprehensive Protection – QBE Hong Kong Motor Insurance

After Typhoon Ragasa, we acted swiftly to support our customers every step of the wayDuring Typhoon Ragasa, Hong Kong was under the No. 10 hurricane signal for nearly 11 hours, severely impacting business operations, transportation, and schools across the city. Hong Kong International Airport was shut down for 36 hours, resulting in the cancellation of nearly 1,000 flights. The storm caused serious flooding, property damage, fallen trees, and debris accumulation, significantly affecting daily life. However, QBE Hong Kong’s claims team responded quickly, demonstrating outstanding efficiency and commitment: Through the Manulife channel, we received a total of 668 claims, with 91% related to travel insurance, reflecting the widespread impact on travelers during the storm. Thanks to our efficient claims process and automated systems, 86% of Manulife claims have already been closed, showcasing our ability and commitment to respond swiftly to customer needs during a crisis.
