QBE will be launching an one-time project to write off the unsettled outstanding premium for policy effected from 1 Aug 2016 to 31 Dec 2019. Key feedbacks from Manulife representatives including major / top producing districts have been collected in September and October so as to shape the mechanism in this project.
The objective of this project is to:
a. Resolve all the unsettled outstanding premium in agents’ account
b. Write-off policy or pay corresponding commission to agent with provision of payment proof
c. Reset the legacy issue to provide a fresh start in 2021 with improved digital solution to support agents
Please rest assured that QBE will continue to honour the policy coverage of the policies with outstanding premium and written off under this project and therefore NO IMPACT to your customer’s coverage.
We have prepared the information which you need to know about this project for outstanding policy premium:
1. Policies from 1 Aug 2016 to 31 Dec 2019
2. Policies from 1 Jan 2020 and beyond
For Policy transacted on or after 1 Jan 2020, if premium remains overdue (30 days from policy transaction date), QBE will send reminder letter to agents for premium collection. it is important that you have to communicate with your customers to avoid policy cancellation due to overdue premium. After 60 days from policy transaction date, QBE will implement the automatic policy cancellation if premium remain outstanding. We have formed a special team with dedicated Finance staff and a centralized Email box to promptly handle the enquires and document checking in November – December. If you need added support, you can also contact our Relationship Managers.
