Borrower or guarantor involved in recovery actions by QBE LMI
If you have a complaint about your QBE LMI insurance, please contact our Customer Relations team. If your complaint is about a recovery action taken by QBE LMI, and you’re seeking guidance on what steps to take next, here’s what to do next.
Steps to address your complaint
Step 1: Understand your situation
Lenders’ mortgage insurance is provided by QBE LMI for the benefit of your lender. It protects your lender in the unfortunate event of you defaulting on your home loan and your mortgaged property being sold. If the outstanding loan balance isn’t covered by the sale of the mortgaged property, you are responsible for repaying any shortfall.
Step 2: Acknowledge the recovery action
If QBE LMI has taken, or is taking, any action against you to recover the debt, you’re encouraged to contact QBE LMI’s mercantile agent to explore your available options to repay the debt. Contact details of the mercantile agent will be provided for you.
Step 3: Reach out to customer relations
If you can’t resolve things with the agent, you can contact our Customer Relations team. When you call us, please:
- Have your claim or policy number handy
- Share as much information as possible so we can try to resolve your complaint quickly and fairly
