- QBE will be the first insurance partner to join the initiative with a dedicated focus on supporting communities in Asia
- This initiative aligns with QBE Foundation’s vision of creating strong, resilient and inclusive communities
- Two-year commitment amounting to SGD $875,000 (approximately GBP £500,000) in total
Singapore, 28 July 2025 — QBE Foundation today announced a milestone partnership with Humanity Insured to support inclusion and resiliency among Asia’s most climate-vulnerable communities.
Founded in October 2024, Humanity Insured partners with the insurance sector to allocate private and philanthropic capital at scale to communities most affected by climate change. It awards grants for the payment of premiums or other risk-sharing pools, climate modelling for communities, and the funding for resilience training and assets linked to risk sharing and insurance.
Notably, QBE will be the first insurance partner to join the initiative with a dedicated focus on supporting communities in Asia. It aims to enable people on the climate crisis frontline to access and pay for new forms of insurance, while obtaining other forms of support like resilience training. The partnership strongly aligns with QBE Foundation’s vision of creating strong, resilient and inclusive communities, with a focus on financial inclusion and supporting communities with affordable insurance. It will also extend education and training, to raise risk awareness so that people and communities are better equipped to protect themselves.
QBE Foundation’s commitment will involve a staged approach over two years, involving approximately SGD $875,000 (approximately GBP £500,000) in total. Beneficiaries will include smallholder farmers, coastal communities, urban informal workers, and displaced people.
In addition to providing financial support for projects across the region, QBE Asia teams will have the opportunity to collaborate with Humanity Insured, contributing to project development, sharing expertise and exploring ways to strengthen climate risk resilience throughout Asia.
“At QBE, we believe in the power of insurance to create meaningful change. Our partnership with Humanity Insured marks a significant milestone – not only are we proud to be the first insurer with a dedicated focus on supporting communities in Asia to join this initiative, but we are also deeply aligned in our shared mission to support communities most vulnerable to climate risk,” said Rob Kosova, CEO of QBE Asia.
“We are proud to partner with QBE to drive real impact across Asia. At Humanity Insured, our mission is to bring the world’s most advanced insurance solutions to those who need them most, making them accessible to the most vulnerable so they can plan, rebuild, recover and thrive. This partnership strengthens our ability to deliver on that mission, and we are thrilled to be working together to expand access, build resilience and support communities on the frontlines of climate change,” said Charlie Langdale, CEO of Humanity Insured.
“Together, we are co-creating solutions that extend protection to those who need it most, helping to build resilience and foster inclusion across Asia. This partnership reflects our focus on supporting community resilience at scale and using our expertise to drive impact where it matters most,” added Mr. Kosova.
