This website provides information about the Transfer of general insurance business carried on in Macau by QBE General Insurance (Hong Kong) Limited (“QGI”) (operating in Macau through its registered Macau Branch (“QGI Macau Branch”) to QBE Hongkong &Shanghai Limited (“HKSI”) (operating in Macau through its registered Macau Branch (“HKSI Macau Branch”), both of which are QBE Group entities (the “Transfer”).
The Transfer has been approved by the Macau Chief Executive under Chief Executive Dispatch no. 130/2024. The Transfer occurred on 1 October 2024.

The transferred portfolio comprises all general insurance policies* underwritten by QGI Macau Branch, including any endorsements or amendments thereto, under which there is still potential liability for claims.
*General insurance policies include: Accident (personal and occupational), Credit (commercial risks), Damage to property, Fire and natural forces, General liability, Goods in transit, Land vehicles, Legal expenses, Motor vehicle liability, Miscellaneous (financial loss), Sickness (short term), Suretyship,.

The Transfer has been approved by the Macau Chief Executive under Chief Executive Dispatch no. 130/2024. The insurance policies and liabilities within the scope of the Transfer have now been transferred to and become the responsibility of HKSI Macau Branch as of 1 October 2024.
Submit a claim
Following the Transfer your claim under a QGI Macau Branch policy can now be submitted to HKSI Macau Branch at [email protected].
Existing claim
All claims under the transferred policies, which were being dealt with by QGI Macau Branch are now being handled by, or on behalf of, HKSI Macau Branch. The Transfer does not impact your relationships with your intermediary (if applicable). If you have a claim that was being dealt with by QGI Macau Branch before the Transfer, there has not been and there will not be a change to your communication with our Claims department. We will also write to you with additional HKSI Macau Branch’s contact details.
