2008 Interim Dividend
For the market’s information, the share price used for calculating entitlements under our
Dividend Election Plan (bonus share plan) will be $23.43, being the weighted average market price
over the seven trading days from 26 August to 3 September 2008 (all inclusive).

QBE Announces record insurance profit for 2008 half year
QBE Insurance Group announced its results for the six months ended 30 June 2008 with a record insurance
profit, up 6% to $1,116 million (2007: $1,053 million).

QBE agrees to acquire PMI Australia and PMI Asia
QBE advised that it had signed definitive agreements to acquire PMI Mortgage
Insurance Ltd in Australia and New Zealand (“PMI Australia”) and entered into an in principle
agreement to acquire PMI Mortgage Insurance Asia Limited (“PMI Asia”). The PMI Australia
acquisition is subject to regulatory approvals and the PMI Asia acquisition is subject to
definitive agreements and regulatory approvals. The acquisitions follow extensive due
diligence.
