QBE Connect Claims Stories

claim story

At QBE, we offer more than just claim payment settlement. We have a team of claim specialist whom will support the injured employees for their rehabilitation progress with the medical team and work closely with the employers to ensure their injured employees can return to work at the best possible time frame. Below are success stories in which the QBE Connect team has supported the injured employees to return work.

Client 1: Mrs. T, a 63-year-old Assistant Factory Supervisor, who had sprained her back while lifting bottles of cleaning agents at work. She continued working the next day with increased pain. She then visited her private medical practitioner, was referred to private physiotherapy, and completed a course of treatments for her lumbar spine injury with no significant improvements.

Solutions & Outcomes: Mrs. T was keen to return to work but a long period of sick leave was enforced by her practitioner. QBE understands her frustrations and helped arrange a consultation session with our network of private Orthopaedics specialists, who deemed Mrs T to be suitable for light duties.

With the certification from specialist and close liaison with Mrs. T’s employer, she was happy to return to the workplace to perform light duties. QBE continued to monitor Mrs. T’s progress closely, conducted regular reviews with the specialist, and coordinated ongoing physiotherapy treatment for her, Mrs T gradually upgraded to her pre-injury duties.

Client 2: Ms L, a 51-years-old general worker at a construction site slipped and fell in the workplace, she has then sustained a contusion injury to her head with ongoing upper limb pain, headaches, and dizziness. It was difficult for both Ms L and her employer to understand the persistence of discomfort and continuous sick leave. Ms L received treatment in the public system initially and further investigations into her persistent symptoms were not recommended. In light of this, QBE arranged Ms L to consult a QBE panel specialist who has recommended a further medical investigation for her head and was found coincidentally that Ms L was suffering from a brain tumour.

Solutions & Outcomes: Ms L was grateful for the QBE Connect analysis and QBE’s trust in her report of her persistent symptoms, as well as continued support and understanding of her work-related injury. As Ms L wanted to focus on her medical treatment, QBE assisted Ms L to settle her employees’ compensation claim on a timely basis. Ms L has now recovered from her brain tumour and has returned to her employer performing alternative duties.
