QBE bolsters Asia operations with two key hires

• Patrick Karlowski joins as Chief Operating Officer, Asia, effective 29 June
• Florence Chan joins as Head of Data, Analytics and AI, Asia, from 13 July 

Hong Kong and Singapore, 29 June 2026 — QBE today announced the appointment of Patrick Karlowski as Chief Operating Officer (COO) for its Asia business, effective 29 June 2026. Succeeding Klaas Dijkstra, who has assumed the role of Chief Information Officer, International, Patrick will report to Nathan Fuller, Chief Operations Officer, International, with a dotted line to Rob Kosova, Chief Executive Officer, QBE Asia.

A seasoned executive with over 20 years of experience in the insurance, financial services, and telecommunications sectors, Patrick’s career has focused on strategy, digital innovation, and operational excellence across multiple international markets. Specifically, Patrick has led large‑scale operational units across Asia and Europe; and deployed digital insurance distribution and servicing platforms globally.

Patrick will lead QBE Asia’s strategy, operations, and business transformation agenda – with a focus on driving growth, customer value, and operational excellence. He will oversee cross-divisional alignment and drive collaboration and innovation to unlock new service opportunities.

Complementing Patrick’s appointment, Florence Chan will join as Head of Data, Analytics and AI, Asia, effective 13 July 2026. She will report to Shrenik Dagli, Group Head of Data, Analytics and AI, with a dotted line to Patrick.

Florence brings more than 20 years of experience across data, analytics, transformation, financial services and technology, with expertise in regulatory reporting, governance frameworks, and AI adoption. In her new role, Florence will lead QBE Asia’s Data and Analytics team and work closely with colleagues to define and deliver the organisation’s Data and AI roadmap in the region – driving responsible AI adoption and creating measurable business value through insight-enabled decision making.
