QBE makes two key appointments to executive leadership team in Asia


  • Stephen Geisler appointed as CEO of South Asia to lead QBE Singapore and provide oversight for QBE Malaysia from 23 September
  • Ross Bethell appointed as Head of Partnerships, effective 1 September

Singapore, 26 August 2025 – QBE today announced the appointment of Stephen Geisler as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of South Asia and Ross Bethell as Head of Partnerships for its Asia business. Both roles will be based in Singapore and report to Rob Kosova, CEO of QBE Asia.

Stephen Geisler will assume this new role from 23 September, succeeding Ronak Shah, who is currently serving as CEO of QBE Singapore, and more recently, appointed as CEO of Wholesale Markets Asia.

Stephen will join as CEO of South Asia from QBE’s headquarters in Australia, having been with the firm for over 35 years, working across multiple functions, and experienced in global and Asian markets underwriting. In his new role leading QBE Singapore directly and providing oversight for QBE Malaysia, Stephen will drive business strategy and provide leadership on sustainable business growth, including leading local underwriting teams.

From 1 September, Ross Bethell will serve as Head of Partnerships, overseeing the strategic direction and management of the company’s international broker channels, while fostering strong relationships with key partners in strategic markets and working with local broker teams to drive regional growth. Ross brings with him over two decades of industry experience, having held leaderships roles with a strong focus on client management. He was most recently the Chief Client Officer of South Asia at Marsh.
