Changes to Non-Executive Directors

QBE Insurance Group Limited (QBE) today announced the appointment (subject to shareholder approval at the Company’s 2022 Annual General Meeting) of Yasmin Allen as a Non-Executive Director effective 1 July 2022, and the retirement of Non-Executive Directors John M. Green and Stephen Fitzgerald, effective 5 May 2022 at the conclusion of the Company’s Annual General Meeting.

QBE’s Chairman, Mr Mike Wilkins said the retirements and new appointment were part of the ongoing Board succession process.

Ms Allen brings deep experience in business and as a company director. She is currently a non-executive director of Cochlear Limited, Santos Limited and ASX Limited and Chair of the Digital Skills Organisation and has held various director and chair roles at Insurance Australia Group and Macquarie Global Infrastructure Funds among others.
Mr Wilkins said, “Yasmin has extensive board experience across a range of sectors and she brings significant leadership, governance and strategic industry insights and experience to our Board. The Board is delighted Yasmin will be joining us and we look forward to working with her.”

John M. Green and Stephen Fitzgerald 

Mr Wilkins extended his thanks for Mr Green’s and Mr Fitzgerald’s commitment and contribution during their time on the QBE Board. 
Mr Green joined the Board in 2010 as a non-executive director. During his tenure with QBE, he served as Deputy Chair of the Board and as a member on each of the Board Committees, including as Chair of the People & Remuneration Committee and Risk & Capital Committee and Deputy Chair of the Investment Committee. Mr Fitzgerald joined the Board as a non-executive director in 2014. During his tenure with QBE, he was Chair of the Investment Committee, and People & Remuneration Committee and a member of the Risk & Capital Committee. 

Mr Wilkins said, “I thank John and Stephen for their many years of service and commitment to QBE. Their support, insights and wise counsel have been invaluable to both the Board and senior management and they have played important roles in the strategic development of the Company. The Board would like to thank John and Stephen for their valuable contribution and we wish them every success in the future.”
