Our origins
We began in 1886, when two entrepreneurs James Burns and Robert Philp, started a marine insurance company.
Within just 5 years they were at the heart of the key shipping destinations of London, Hong Kong and Singapore.
They would soon branch out to be at the heart of other sectors and become the QBE we know today.
