QBE appoints new non-executive director

QBE Insurance Group Limited is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Peter Wilson as a Non-Executive Director to the Group Board.

Mr Wilson is an accomplished insurance executive and business leader with over 40 years’ experience. He served as Chief Executive Officer of Axis Insurance from 2013 to 2022 and prior to that was President of U.S. Insurance.

Mr Wilson was with CNA Insurance for more than 20 years, including as President and Chief Operating Officer for CNA Specialty. He also served as Executive Vice President at AIG, where he managed the commercial public D&O business in the U.S.

Mike Wilkins, Chairman of the QBE Group Board, said: “It is my pleasure to welcome Peter Wilson to the Board. Peter has an outstanding career in the insurance industry with extensive experience in both executive and board positions and brings a strong focus on governance, process improvement and collaboration”.

“He is a known advocate for strong claims management processes and strategic broker relations and his appointment will enhance the insurance expertise of the QBE Board, with a strong background in the United States, United Kingdom and Bermuda. Subject to the satisfactory completion of relevant regulatory approvals, Mr Wilson’s appointment will take effect from 1 September, 2023.
