QBE Foundation partners with Centre for Women’s Economic Safety to expand financial support for women across Australia

The QBE Foundation is proud to announce a new community partnership with the Centre for Women’s Economic Safety (CWES), an organisation dedicated to supporting women experiencing economic abuse and driving systemic change to improve economic safety.
The partnership aims to support the expansion of CWES’s Money Clinics program, which offers free and confidential financial guidance to women, non-binary and gender diverse people experiencing or concerned about economic abuse.
The QBE Foundation will help CWES launch a hybrid model of Money Clinics, combining virtual and mobile services to reach more people in rural and regional communities across Australia. This initiative will help CWES broaden its reach and provide vital support to more women in need.
Julie Starley, Co-Chair of the QBE Foundation, said the partnership reflects the QBE Foundation’s focus on creating strong, resilient and inclusive communities by supporting initiatives that provide practical help where it’s needed most.
“We are proud to support CWES and the vital work they do to improve economic safety for women. By helping expand the Money Clinics program, we aim to increase access to financial guidance and resources for those facing significant challenges,” she said.
Chris Esson, Co-Chair of the QBE Foundation, highlighted the importance of reaching rural and regional communities with these services.
“This partnership is about making support more accessible for women in areas where services can be harder to reach. Through mobile and virtual Money Clinics, CWES will be able to connect with more women in rural and regional areas, providing practical help that can help make a lasting impact on their economic safety,” he said.
Rebecca Glenn, CEO and founder of CWES, said “We’re delighted to partner with QBE Foundation in developing this innovative model to support more women across Australia. The research shows us that women in rural and regional areas face higher rates of violence and abuse and greater barriers to support. This investment helps us address that gap and deliver Money Clinics to less well-served areas of Australia.”
