Jef Tio
Jef joined QBE Insurance (Malaysia) Berhad in September 2025. He brings 23 years of distinguished experience in the general insurance industry, with experience in leadership roles across multinational corporations in Malaysia and Cambodia. Jef has a proven track record in agency business development, strategic transformation and driving market-focused growth. His in-depth knowledge of the Malaysian general insurance market, coupled with his extensive regional exposure.
In addition to a Bachelor’s degree in Law from Leeds University, Jef obtained his Associate CIP ANZIIF in 2011.
Kaneetha Rajan
Kaneetha Rajan joined QBE Insurance (Malaysia) Berhad in November 2021 as the People Business Partner for Malaysia and Vietnam. She was then appointed as the Head of People, Malaysia and Vietnam in April 2024 to drive organisational success through strategic people initiatives.
Kaneetha has over 17 years of experience spanning across the banking and insurance industry, which includes knowledge and skills in operations, transformation and a wide spectrum of the human resource function.
Kaneetha holds a Master of Applied Statistics from University of Malaya and a Certificate of Malaysian Insurance Institute (CMII). Kaneetha is also the Education and Human Resource Development Committee member of the General Insurance Association of Malaysia (PIAM).
Jaysree Kaliappan
Jaysree joined QBE in July 2025 as the Head of Compliance. She is a seasoned compliance and operational risk leader with over 14 years of experience across financial institutions in Asia Pacific.
Jaysree holds a Degree in Communications. She also has an ICA International Diploma in Governance, Risk and Compliance, e-Certificate of The Malaysian Insurance Institute (eCMII) and ICA Certificate in Regulatory and Financial Crime Compliance.
Cheow Tjern Yipp (TJ)
TJ joined QBE in March 2022. He has more than 10 years of experience in consulting and general insurance, spanning a variety of leadership roles in reserving, pricing, risk, underwriting, product development, strategic planning, and project management.
TJ is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and a Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst (CERA).
Mohd Farid Bin Othman
Farid Othman joined QBE Insurance (Malaysia) Berhad in December 2018 as the Head of Risk for Malaysia.
Farid brings over 20 years of expertise in internal auditing and risk management within both local and multinational financial institutions. He leads critical risk areas such as operational resilience, regulatory compliance and climate and sustainability risk, while supporting Board and EXCO risk governance through clear, decision-oriented insights.
He holds an honours degree in accounting from the University of Science, Malaysia, a master's in risk management from Northern University of Malaysia and is a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants.
Vijay Anand Jeevaratnam
Vijay joined QBE Insurance (Malaysia) Berhad in July 2015 as the Head of Engineering. He was then appointed as the Head of Property & Engineering in April 2019. In Nov 2021, Vijay was appointed as the Head of Underwriting.
Vijay with over 20 years in the industry brings forth a unique set of knowledge and skills which include an in-depth understanding of Business Processes, Structured Methodologies, Claims Management and Underwriting Expertise in both the insurance and reinsurance industries.
Vijay is Bachelor of Arts graduate majoring in the area of International Business Administration from the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside, United Kingdom.
Shahsi Selvaraju
Shahsi joined QBE Insurance (Malaysia) Berhad in July 2023 as the Head of Claims. He has over 14 years of experience spanning across the insurance and technology industry. Shahsi has relevant experience particularly in driving customer advocacy and efficiency solutioning through digital assets, claims process improvements and performance management.
Shahsi holds a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA).
Lim Chai Guan
Lim Chai Guan is the Head of Distribution at QBE Malaysia, responsible for leading the company’s distribution strategy and strengthening partnerships across the intermediary network nationwide.
With over 16 years of experience in the insurance industry, he brings a strong track record in shaping distribution strategy, agency leadership, and business development. He is well regarded for driving sustainable growth, building high-performing teams, and developing talent.
Chai Guan holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering (Industrial Quality Control) from the University Sains Malaysia. He has also completed a wide range of professional and leadership development programmes across insurance, financial planning, risk management, agency leadership, and digital insurance, both locally and internationally.
Vivien Wong
Vivien joined QBE Insurance (Malaysia) Berhad as Head of Finance in May 2026. She has more than 25 years of finance leadership experiences spanning audit, asset management, and insurance across multinational corporations in Malaysia. Vivien’s expertise covers financial reporting, finance operations, planning, and managing transformation initiatives.
Vivien holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting and Finance) from Curtin University of Technology. She is member of the CPA Australia and Malaysian Institute of Accountants.
