New York, NY – QBE today completed the in-housing of its Auto, Property and General Liability claims to further differentiate the service it provides to its distribution partners and customers. The process concluded with the onboarding of more than 150 employees from Sedgwick Claims Management Services, which had been handling a portion of those claims as part of an outsourcing agreement. Sedgwick will continue to service QBE's workers' compensation and TPA-related claims.
"QBE is now moving forward with the best of both worlds," said Dan Franzetti, Chief Claims Officer at QBE North America. "Having Auto, Property, and General Liability claims back in house allows us to build stronger direct relationships with QBE distribution partners and customers. Meanwhile, Sedgwick's scale, expertise, and superior technology in Workers' Compensation will allow QBE to offer market-leading Claims solutions to its customers in that line of business."
After announcing the plan on August 29, 2016, QBE and Sedgwick have been working closely together to ensure the transition went smoothly.
"We have greatly appreciated Sedgwick's teamwork and flexibility throughout the years," said Mr. Franzetti. "We're especially proud that, together, we have kept customer service at peak levels during this time of change. We finished 2016 with a customer satisfaction score of 92.8%, up slightly over 2015. That performance shows the strength or our continuing partnership."
David North, CEO of Sedgwick added, "We value our relationship with QBE and are glad to have contributed to the company's success for the past few years. We look forward to working with QBE for many years to come."
