QBE Australia and New Zealand makes key executive appointments

Tim Plant, CEO of QBE’s Australian and New Zealand Operations, today announced the appointment of Jason Clarke as Executive General Manager, Intermediary Distribution.

Jason has worked with QBE for almost 25 years in a range of roles across the country including underwriting, sales and senior management. Most recently he has been the General Manager of International Brokers.

Tim Plant said: "I am delighted we have been able to promote from within for this critically important role. Jason and the Intermediary Distribution team will continue to support our customers' current and future requirements, seeking innovative solutions to respond to the challenging market conditions."

Jason Clarke said: "QBE is known for its strong heritage and relationships in the broker market. This is a significant component of our business in Australia and I am excited by the opportunity to leverage our global capabilities to provide new and flexible solutions for our customers."

This is the second executive appointment for QBE in recent weeks, with Steven Raynor announced as Executive General Manager, Transformation. Steven joined QBE in 2005 in the Workers Compensation business unit and has worked in a number of business units driving process improvement and change. Over the last couple of years Steven has led the transformation program in Australia and New Zealand and supported the wider global program in North America and Europe.

Tim Plant said: "This newly formed business unit will bring together some of our key specialists from throughout the organisation to align and drive strategy, and promote innovation to deliver improved outcomes for our customers."

Steven Raynor said: "As a Transformation team, our key objective is to help Australia and New Zealand deliver an exceptional customer experience. We will assist the business to provide our customers with better and faster service through improving the way we work every day and optimising our business processes."

Jason and Steven will continue to be based in Sydney. These changes are effective immediately.
