Target Market Determinations

Product Design and Distribution Obligations - keeping our customers at the centre of what we do

From 5 October 2021, the new ‘Product Design and Distribution Obligations’ (PDDO) regime will come into effect and apply to all product issuers and distributors of general insurance products that are covered by the PDDO regime.

We put the customer at the centre of our product design and distribution approach and focus on delivering better outcomes for our customers through continuous improvement.

What is a Target Market Determination?

A Target Market Determination (TMD) is a document that describes the type of customers a particular product is intended for based on their likely needs, objectives and financial situation. Importantly, it also describes which customers it is not intended for. The way in which the product can be sold, and how we will monitor the product to ensure it is continuing to add value for customers will also be outlined in the TMD.
