Press Release

QBE announced as insurance provider for Australia Post customers

QBE Australia (QBE) has entered into a new partnership with Australia Post, having recently been selected as the general insurance provider for Australia’s largest postal service provider.

From 22 March, Australia-Post branded QBE Home and Motor insurance products will be available to Australia Post customers, with NSW Compulsory Third Party (CTP) Insurance intended to launch on 30 March.

The partnership will benefit from QBE’s recently revamped Home and Motor insurance products, which were launched late last year following the insurer’s focus on enhancing its digital offerings to create simpler and more transparent products.

QBE Australia’s Interim Managing Director, Frank Costigan said the partnership will play an important role in strengthening the insurer’s personal lines portfolio within its Australian division.

“We’re delighted to announce our partnership with Australia Post. A key part of our strategy in the personal lines space has been to redesign and simplify our products with a customer lens. We reduced the steps needed to obtain an online quote, re-wrote our Product Disclosure Statements (PDS) with clear and understandable language, and added helpful tips and intuitive navigation to our online portal to help customers better understand their cover.

“Now more than ever, we recognise the importance of online platforms and digital tools in our customer’s day-to-day dealings. We’re really proud of our new offerings in Home and Motor insurance and are thrilled to now be able to offer these to Australia Post customers.”

Aside from the new digitally accessible insurance products, the partnership will also leverage QBE’s customer contact centre that has been purpose built with a customer-led approach to enhance the claims experience. This in turn will be backed by Australia Post’s extensive network and significant marketing and distribution capability.

Australia Post’s General Manager Payments and Financial Services Deanne Keetelaar said the partnership was the continuation of Australia Post’s expanded journey with financial services.

“Like Australia Post, QBE is a well-known Australian brand with longstanding connections in many communities, and this partnership builds further on the important role Australia Post continues to play in expanding access to vital government and financial services in those communities, right across Australia.”

The partnership joins together two long-standing Australian businesses that have a long and proud history of servicing Australian communities.
