QBE's Ash Nair recognized among top analytics leaders

QBE Insurance’s Head of Data & Analytics Transformation, Ash Nair, has been recognised as one of the Top 25 Analytics leaders, ranking fourth in the country by the Institute of Analytics Professionals of Australia (IAPA) this week.

The inaugural IAPA Top 25 Analytics leaders list was created to acknowledge the profession’s best and brightest, given the maturity, expansion and increasing profile of the function in businesses across all sectors.

Mr Nair joined QBE in 2016 and was charged with establishing the data and analytics capabilities of the insurer’s Australian and New Zealand operations (ANZO), to help transform the organisation and deliver on the business’ strategic priorities.

Under Mr Nair’s leadership, the Data & Analytics team is helping embed analytics and insights driven decision making across the business and, ultimately, ensure QBE can better sell, serve and support its customers to achieve positive outcomes.

CEO of QBE’s Australian and New Zealand Operations, Vivek Bhatia, said Mr Nair has made a significant contribution to the transformation of the business.

“Data and analytics underpins our entire business strategy, which is an acknowledgement of the importance of the function Ash is leading,” Mr Bhatia said.

“Ash and the team have already made great advances in developing our data and analytics capability, which is benefiting every part of our business, driving significant savings through motor and catastrophe recoveries, improving claims lodgement processes, and helping us develop a single view of the customer.

“I’d like to extend my congratulations to Ash on this outstanding recognition among an incredibly impressive list of leaders in the profession. We’re proud to have such a talented leader in this critical role,” he said.

Mr Nair said he was grateful for the acknowledgement and being given the opportunity to establish and grow the analytics function for one of Australia’s leading insurers.

“Thank you to the IAPA and panel of judges for this recognition. I’d also like to thank QBE and the senior leaders who have helped champion the Data & Analytics agenda, supporting us to grow and become a valued function that is now embedded across the organisation,” Mr Nair said.
