Upon completion of the graduate program in 2019, I was given greater responsibilities, all of which I was able to pick up with confidence, since the graduate program had given me a variety of opportunities to learn new skills and knowledge that I now use everyday.
Through my graduate rotations, I was exposed to data analysis and modelling, database development, and eventually leading the delivery of an analytics decision support tool. These experiences set the foundation for my career progression into a junior machine learning engineer.
I work within an inclusive team of data scientists, machine learning engineers, and analytics partners to create solutions that leverage data and analytics to bring value to QBE. I was involved in building a tool that triages decisions made when customers lodge a car accident claim. I am currently building another tool that determines the best claims officer to allocate to property claims.
I'm passionate about my work because it benefits our claims officers, who are our front line. So when we improve efficiencies for them, we are also making a difference to our customers in times when they need it the most.
I am proud to be a woman in data and analytics and have achieved so much with the support from my network of peers who value diversity. I aim to continue my learning and development so that I can empower others to challenge stereotypes.
