QBE seeks to expand smash repairer network with RFP

QBE Insurance Australia today announced it will expand its Accredited Smash Repairer (ASR) network and called for suppliers to take part in a request for proposal (RFP).

Suppliers can now register their interest in providing end to end smash repair solutions in the following locations:

  • South Australia – Adelaide metro, Mount Gambier
  • Western Australia – Perth metro, Albany, Bunbury, Busselton
  • Tasmania – Hobart metro
  • Northern Territory – Darwin
  • New South Wales – Newcastle, Wollongong and Central Coast
  • Victoria – Bendigo, Ballarat, Albury-Wodonga
  • Queensland – Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Toowoomba

Today’s announcement follows the successful launch of the ASR network in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Canberra metro areas on 1 September 2017.

The ASR strategy is part of a broader strategic review of QBE’s motor claims division and supports the organisational focus on delivering exceptional customer service and experience.

QBE Executive General Manager – Claims, Jon Fox, said the expansion of the ASR network through an RFP would seek to find suppliers who share QBE’s commitment to exceptional customer service and high quality, cost effective repairs.

"We’re committed to empowering our ASR network to help customers and avoid unnecessary delays so have introduced a self-assessment process to improve the overall efficiency of the process," Mr Fox said.

"QBE is building a sustainable and innovative repair supply chain that we know can deliver outstanding customer experiences.

"The comprehensive tender process is based on a repairer’s ability to provide repairs to passenger and light commercial vehicles as well as their ability to support all QBE’s distribution partners. We’ll use the RFP to choose the most suitable network of smash repairers."

QBE is calling for repairers to register their interest between 26 September 2017 and 6 October 2017. The RFP submissions will be accepted from 13 October to 27 October 2017, with the new panel expected to be in place by 1 March 2018.

QBE will finalise the review of its ASR network in remaining rural locations during 2018.
